Skiing...
The Big Mountain has more than 3,000 skiable acres, ten lifts,
two high-speed quads servicing 2,500 vertical feet and 67 marked runs. The Big
Mountain is famous for snow-ghosts, unsurpassed views of Glacier National Park,
and great value in a laid-back, Montana environment.
The Seasons -
Winter...

A winter wonderland best describes our area. Cross Country Skiing,
Down Hill Skiing, Snowmobiling, Dog Sledding, and more. In Whitefish we
celebrate "Winter Carnival" and visitors can enjoy the holidays in
style, with our "Christmas Stroll" through downtown Whitefish,
complete with horse drawn sleigh rides and hot cider from the local
merchants.
Spring...

Early spring provides some spectacular skiing on The Big Mountain
and the other area resorts. Late spring, also known as "Break Up"
marks the return of the birds, new leaves, and plant growth. The rivers rise
from the mountain run off and this is a great time for Kayaking, White Water
Rafting, Fishing, & Golf. In Whitefish we celebrate "Stumptown
Days" and the return of spring with the planting of flowers and the
cleaning of the "Fish".
Drive in and hike or bike Glacier National Park, usually open at this time up
to "The Loop". We've provided the "Going to the Sun" road
conditions on our Glacier Park Page.
Summer...

Summer bring a wealth of outdoor activities. The "Going to the
Sun" road in Glacier National Park is now completely open and the weather
is perfect for camping, hiking, fishing, or just about anything you could think
of doing outside. How about a few rounds of Golf? The days are long and the sun
sets at about 10:30pm. The night sky fills with stars and gives new meaning to
"Big Sky Country".
Fall...

Fall brings the changing of the leaves and cooler temperatures.
There is snow and frost in the higher elevations which makes for some truly
stunning scenery. There is still plenty of golf to be played, and in Whitefish
we're gearing up for Halloween which we celebrate with great style.
